Instrumentation & Control (I &C) engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.

Instrumentation engineering is the branch of engineering that specializes on the principle and operation of measuring instruments that are used in fields of design, configuration of automated systems in electrical, pneumatic domains, etc.

Instrumentation engineers are commonly responsible for integrating the sensors with the recorders, transmitters, displays or control systems. They may design or specify installation, wiring and signal conditioning. They may be responsible for calibration, testing and maintenance of the system.

Careers for I& C Engg. Diploma holders can be found in a whole host of industries, from automotive to utilities. Instrumentation & Control engineering diploma holders are typically accepted in Aerospace, Automotive, Construction, Defense, Electronics, Fast moving consumer goods, Marine, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Power generation, Rail, Telecoms, Utilities industry.

The Government Polytechnic Sonipat offers Three Years Diploma Course in Instrumentation & Control Engineering .The department was started to meet the demand for well-qualified Instrumentation & Control professionals. The intake of the course is 60 students. Department has well –qualified and dedicated faculty for the betterment of the students.
